Californian Watershed Network Gets a New Look!

California Watershed Network has tapped into the creative services of Goodchap Brand Identity (GBI) to develop a new logo and identity. The criteria for the assignment was to develop a brand that was as appropriate to the organization as it was distinct. James Goodchap, creative director of GBI has worked with Mary Lee Knecht, CWN President, in the past to develop the Sacramento River Watershed Program logo and identity, so was particularly keen to contribute the time of his studio on this new project. "It was a pleasure to be able to support CWN with our branding experience and design talents", Goodchap said. "Our challenge was to develop a mark that was different from other state and national organizations and create elements that would be versatile for on-going applications. The selected solution is a simple grouping of geometric elements that suggest hills and mountains with a sense of depth created by the darker green in the foreground and lighter greens behind. The river exists as negative space between the shapes and affords an energy produced by the strong diagonals".

Huge thanks to Goodchap Brand Identity for their fantastic work on the new CWN logo!  Thanks also to Chuck Lundgren, owner of Iris Software, for the fantastic redesign and new look of the website!
