9:00 am Meet at Cal. Dept. of Fish & Game Refuge Headquarters, west side of Yolo Causeway. From Sacramento, take first exit after causeway, loop right around and under freeway, keep right and head east past fruit stand 0.8 miles on County Rd 32 B to CDFG, first parking lots past fields on south from I-80, park. Coffee served, board deluxe motor coach for tour.
9:30 Bus departs for Fazio Yolo Wildlife Area, stop and Rice and Wildlife sign
9:45 Arrive Rice area, presentation by CA Dept of Fish and Game and/or Yolo Basin Foundation staff, inspect rice fields, levees, canals, pumps, and siphon
10:30 Depart for Sacramento Weir, north of I-80 bridge, west bank.
11:00 Arrive at Weir, presentation by Gary Bardini, Chief of Hydrology Branch, CA Dept of Water Resources, tour and overview of flood operations, effectiveness, and function of Yolo Bypass
11:45 Leave for levee repair site, West Sacramento
12:00 Arrive at levee repair site, view DWR and Corps of Engineers levee repair and re-vegetation projects, view acres of new housing adjacent to levee.
12:30 pm Depart for Sherwood Marina lunch spot along levee road
12:45 Arrive Sherwood Marina for lunch, presentation by Stu Townslee, Army Corps of Engineers, on reservoir re-operation due to global warming effects
1:30 Tour of Levee and Delta Area south to Clarksburg, narrated by Prof. Jeff Mount, UC Davis, levee failure issues and Delta land use conflicts
3:00 Arrive at Yolo Bypass Wildlife Viewing area, unload to vehicles, tour ends
